Feven B. Seyoum is a dedicated and experienced practitioner with a career deeply rooted in advocating for marginalized communities and fostering positive change. With a Master of Social Work from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California State University, Chico, Feven’s unique perspective is shaped by her academic achievements, professional expertise and lived experiences with system navigation.
Throughout her career, Feven has had the privilege of working across a range of impactful roles. With a start in community organizing for child welfare reform in her adolescence, creating content and curriculum to educate service providers on trauma informed and uplifting engagement practices with system involved youth, and directing one of the largest Boys & Girls Clubs in the nation, Feven’s vast experience lends her consulting prowess to all, from large organizations to families, directly. Additionally, Feven has provided direct mental health treatment and intervention in medical settings and private practice, prioritizing the needs of marginalized communities facing extreme poverty, immigration challenges, severe mental health issues, homelessness, and substance abuse.
Feven’s work is defined by a strong dedication to culturally responsive and purposeful services that promote equity and uplift marginalized communities. With 18 years of experience in the service field, Feven has consistently leveraged her expertise to drive practice changes and develop resources that serve underserved populations. Her career has spanned various areas of social services, equipping her with the knowledge and skills to deliver optimal support to any multidisciplinary team. Feven’s passion for amplifying the voices of those often overlooked keeps social justice at the heart of her praxis.
At Amore Wellness Hub, Feven continues her mission of “Holistically navigating life’s challenges” by providing comprehensive training, accessible education, advocacy, and support to individuals, professionals, families, and communities. She is committed to ensuring that everyone has access to the resources and guidance needed to thrive. Her journey from being a system-involved youth to becoming a leader in the field fuels her unwavering dedication to creating a more equitable and supportive world for all.
Amore Wellness Hub was established to address the critical gaps she observed throughout her career, particularly in areas where support systems often fall short. She identified a significant lack of support for family members of individuals struggling with mental health and/or substance abuse issues; often leaving them without the necessary resources to assist their loved ones. Feven recognized the urgent need for better education and support for immigrant minors entering the U.S. child welfare system; often faced with unique and complex challenges that are inadequately addressed. Through her advocacy efforts, she also crusades for pregnant and parenting youth, noting the lack of support for both young parents and their children, especially those in foster care and in the juvenile justice system. Feven believes these young parents deserve support that allows them to heal and thrive, which in turn, allows them to be better equipped at parenting.
Amore Wellness Hub was created to bridge these gaps by offering specialized training, education, and resources that empower individuals, families, professionals, and communities to navigate these complex issues more effectively.
